On Sunday morning there was a steady stream of visitors including the Mayor, Mrs Norma Redfern, who was first through the door.
At 3pm the formalities of the flag rededication began.
Speeches were made by our Group Scout Leader, Dudley Rogers, the Lord Lieutenant for Tyne and Wear Mrs Susan Winfield OBE DL, Mr Alan Campbell MP and Assistant County Commissioner (International) Mr Michael Pearson.
Our District Commissioner Mrs Stephanie Doughty made a speech and then presented the Group with a print of a painting by Lord Baden-Powell then Assistant Scout Leader Mr Lawrence Gill with his five year long service award.
Mr Richard Greenacre, George Greenacre's Grandson then presented all of the Group members with our specially made centenary badges and made a short speech.
The dignitaries were then presented with a framed badge, a copy of the Group history and then a final speech was made by the Group Chairman, Mr Chris Harrison.

After the formal part people managed to have a chat before leaving for the Village Hotel and the Leaders managed to get a few photos taken.
